We hope we can be of help to you in your art journey, your art career or if you are looking for some fine art and your search has brought you to our site, we hope you find what you’re looking for. The Saddleback Art League is a community art league organized to help members learn about art techniques, media, and have opportunities to sell their artwork and to socialize with other artists in the community. Our principle activities include a monthly meeting with a demonstration artist, an annual juried art show and art show opportunities to promote and sell your art work. Demonstration artists are usually well known artists will excellent credentials and often national reputations. They typically work in oil, acrylic, watercolor or pastels. Our annual juried art show draws hundreds of entries and allows members an opportunity to showcase their best work, vie for awards and to display their work for the public to enjoy. The Saddleback Art League also allows members to display their artwork on its web site. Our members enjoy many benefits of the Saddleback Art League and we invite you to attend a meeting and consider joining. We meet on the second Tuesday of each month at the Mission Viejo Library in the Community Room. The Library is located at the southwest corner of La Paz Road and Marguerite Parkway in Mission Viejo, California, a family-oriented community in Orange County. Stop by and join us. We look forward to meeting you and learning of your talents and interests. Sincerely, Rich Hall President |

Next meeting will be held on November 18 instead of November 11( the library is closed) Mary Aslin will be our demo artist for November. She will demonstate in pastel. Mary is a traditional representational painter, inspired by the profusion of beauty in people, still life, and landscapes. Her richly colored, dramatic pastel and oil paintings are usually completed alla prima—all at once in one session—in order to capture the immediacy and poetry of her subjects. Mary was born in Salt Lake City in 1962 and grew up in Oregon and Washington. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Washington, she worked for several years as cartographer designing maps. A wonderful journey as the mother of triplets followed and kindled a newfound joy, energy, inspiration and awareness, which prompted a deeper pursuit into the world of fine art and the study of classical representational painting. She has studied at The Gage Academy of Art and with several noteworthy artists. She is a member of the Southern California Artists Association, the United Society of Pastel Artists, the Pastel Society of the West Coast, the Northwest Pastel Society and the California Art Club. Mary maintains a studio in Laguna Beach, California and is represented by Chemers Gallery, Tustin, California. Her award winning work can be found in private collections in the U.S. and Europe. You may view her website at: maryaslin.com. |
