Sansanee Boonyad
I create my works mostly from my intuition. I enjoy the feeling of freedom and the exploration of the mysterious elements in the act of creating. Nature—especially roots and branches of trees—and portraiture are the elements that I am attracted to the most. I like to observe different aspects of my surroundings and the conditions of people that we do not always see. This practice has helped me to be more emphatic and open-minded. Freedom and energetic experimentation are a part of who I am.
My medium is often drawing, but I have used a wide range of media such as ink, watercolor, oil, and acrylic. I base my selection of the medium on which one is best suited for my particular project.
My experiences of studying art in Thailand and the U.S. inspired me to share my passion for arts with others through my artwork and teaching. I received a MFA in Painting/ Drawing from Laguna College of Art and Design (LCAD), a BA in Art UCLA and a BEd in Art Education from Loei Rajabhat University, Thailand.
