Celia Wu was born in China, grew up in Taiwan and emigrated to the United States in 1978. She earned her BA in Linguistics and BS in Business Computer Method. Working at aerospace companies for a couple of decades, she decided to leave her career as I. T. Specialist to pursuit a classic art education in Saddleback College in 2003. Since then she has focused on basic principles of representational art in oil and in watercolor. Her work has been in solo exhibitions at Sacred Grounds in San Pedro, At Taiwan Center in San Diego and at libraries in Mission Viejo and in Laguna Niguel.
Through the years Celia has won various awards including Best Artwork Pacific-Western Region from Wall Literary Journal, the First Place of Art Contest in City Of Rancho Santa Margarita, Best in Show from Saddleback Art League, winner of Paint The Lake events at Mission Viejo and First Place of Annual Student Contest at Saddleback College.
Currently Celia Wu is a Master Member of the Saddleback Art League and an Artist Member of National Watercolor Society.
