Sandra Wessel at the “Friends Gallery”

Please visit the Laguna Niguel Library March 8, 2016 to April 19, 2016 to see the beautiful watercolors of Sandra Wessel at the “Friends Gallery”.

Sandy enjoyed a creative design career that spanned forty years. She began in fashion design and was the Los Angeles regional fashion coordinator of a large department store chain. She expanded her design career to include interior, floral, visual merchandising, buying and public relations. She was a personal shopper for Nordstroms, she was a designer on the coveted design team at Roger’s Gardens, and she was the Special Events Coordinator, Bridal Consultant, and Personal Shopper at Tiffany & Co. In addition to her full-time position, Sandy also taught design and fashion at three high schools, four local community colleges, and at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising.

Sandy knew once she retired she wanted to pick up her paint brushes and see if she could master pictorial art. She has been painting in watercolor now for seven years and she loves every minute of it. Watercolor painting has opened up a whole new world for her. Sandy particularly enjoys painting portraits because she enjoys people. When she is residing at her second home on the Big Island of Hawaii, she loves to paint Hawaiian culture, the mysteries of undersea life and natural beauty found in the islands.
